Here's the Deal...

Well, here's the deal. Someone I respect a lot, though I've never met them in person, has volunteered to spruce up my site. From the example he sent me, which was lovely, it would probably include images and different colors. But you guys are the readers. I always wanted the blog to simply be read. I hoped my words would fill in the image blanks and make images unnecessary. But you are the people reading this. Should I spruce this up or do you like the utter simplicity of a title and a story/entry?
Don't everybody answer at once, you lazy bunch of whatevers...You know you are, what with the one or two responses I've got to eek out of you. I suspect there are more than the eight people who occasionally respond reading this stuff. Or maybe I'm off my medication or should be on medication, or should at least be selling some medication...because if the eight or so of you are the total of who's reading, I'm in serious denial about who I am. I would have guessed at least 29 or 30 regular readers. Com'on, we're out of work, got time to kill, the blog is free to read...must be a couple of dozen at least.
So let me know. Doll this space up or leave it the heck alone and pray for more good stories that stand on their own, without adding images and bells and whistles?

Yup.

Nice to come here to this version of The Gorman Cold Beer and Blues Bar... no TVs blaring, no cover charge, no dress code. Just some damn fine words, straight no chaser.

He "volunteered". I presume that means there is no fee for his contribution to your site. What harm can there be to allow him to give you what he has come up with-- if you like it a lot and feel it represents 'you'-- use it! If it does not make your spirit quicken when you see it-- just thank him for the effort and go on using your present layout.

I like it the way it is. Your writing is all the fancy thing this blog needs. Your call though, free is free right?

I use an RSS reader to fetch your posts (google reader btw). This gives me the "straight Gorman" no matter what blog template you happen to be using...or not. I vote for do whatever feels right to you. And I award google reader the coveted and seldom awarded 5 scowly faces.

Spoken in a BOOMING "OZ" voice - "Silence! The great and powerful Gritter is speaking! So, you need a decision eh, Mr. Gorman!" Cut to Flames and lots of Crashing noises... "Lesser men than you have made decisions before and with no more decision making power than you have right now. But if you really need this decision made for you - I give you - MADELEINA!!- She will tell you what to do! The Great Gritter Has Spoken!! More flames and crashing thingies - fade to black.

Neener neener neener - - bet I know what she will say. Probably goes something like this,

"Would you add a lace border to a Picasso? Would you use a glo-pen on a Rembrandt? Didn't think so - a work of art is already perfect the way it is so why do you want to screw around with it?"

Or something close to that I think.

You can rearrange the furniture if you like. Just don't replace my comfy seat when I come here to relax and enjoy your stories!

Depends on what you want from it. If you want a simple blog that people will come to, to read, be informed, and entertained, you've got that. If on the other hand you want to use it as a 'tool' for promotion or otherwise - as some people do - then I say 'doll' it up. Maybe this is something you want with the book coming out? Either way, I'll still be reading!

Hi Peter, I love the utter simplicity of your page. You don't know me, but I know you through all of your great work in HT and the rest. I looked for your email but couldn't find it. So I will say what I need to here.

I am a Two Spirits person who writes on my own website about identity and personality from the center of the duality. I would love to share my ideas with you, and have a dialogue about matters of the spirit.

You are wise beyond your physical being. I was in Iquitos a few years ago with my Dutch friend Henk and Don Eduardo. Great time out in the jungle. Crapped and through up ALL OVER and then sat and smelled it for an eternity. I don't mean to be gross but that's life in the jungle, no?

I just heard the radio interview with DJ Zart. My imagination was thrilled by your account of your teacher showing you his giant luminescent chakra. And your account of "the Gifts"...AMAZING You are wise and modest' and have much to share and teach.

Remember that flawed though our personalities inevitably are, therein lies our divinity. When everything is flawed, everything is just right. It is our spiritual being that requires us to be perfect in our 'Warrior's stance", which I intend to describe a state of fearless vulnerability.

Can you tell me a little more about your next trip in the summer? You would be a great travel guide! I may have the sheckles to go but the specifics would be nice.
S'pose I should ask you first....
Gotta a problem with a 59 year old, female bodied Two Spirits medicine person?

I'll wait patiently whilst you consult with your spirit guides.

Curious: Have you read "Yage" by Burroughs?

And the is spelled 'proselytize" Your welcome. Thank you.

Namaste

Peter ... I hate your blog ... here I am sat in a god forsaken work camp trying to diet and lose weight then I read about you preparing a meal and have to head straight for the fridge .. We don't have decent food so I end up in chocolate heaven ... But I still keep reading and I like the format :-) and love the humanity )))
